A Battle Cry for Christ-Following Mamas

The tragic news of Charlie Kirk’s shooting is a sobering reminder of the times we live in. Violence, hatred, and deception swirl around us, and our children are growing up in a world where truth is constantly under attack. As mothers, we cannot afford to be passive. The enemy does not wait until our children are grown to feed them lies—he begins as early as the toddler years.
But here’s the good news: God has entrusted us, as mothers, with the sacred responsibility of discipling our children in His truth.
Jesus said in John 8:32, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” The freedom our children need doesn’t come from the culture or from a school system—it comes from the living Word of God.
Why Homeschooling Is the Best Defense
While public and private schools may offer academics, they are not neutral. Every system teaches from a worldview—either rooted in the truth of Scripture or in the shifting sands of human opinion. Public schools, and often private schools, are steeped in ideologies that directly contradict God’s Word: relativism, gender confusion, materialism, and the normalization of sin.
Homeschooling is not about sheltering—it’s about discipling. It is the best way to:
Saturate your children’s hearts with God’s Word daily (Deuteronomy 6:6–7).
Train them to recognize lies by first grounding them in truth (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
Build a family culture centered on Christ rather than on peers or programs.
Equip them to engage the world with courage, conviction, and compassion.
By homeschooling, you’re not just educating minds—you’re shaping souls for eternity.
Bearing Good Fruit
This is not a call to raise children who argue for the sake of winning debates. Scripture warns us to “avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless” (Titus 3:9).
Instead, we are called to raise children who bear good fruit:
Love: rooted in Christ, not fear.
Peace: firm in conviction, gentle in spirit.
Truth: speaking with boldness, yet always seasoned with grace (Colossians 4:6).
Homeschooling gives us daily opportunities to disciple with love, correct with patience, and build wisdom without rushing through life’s most important lessons.
Contending for the Faith
Jude 1:3 exhorts us to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” That’s our charge as mothers—not to shrink back, not to outsource, but to stand boldly in our homes and raise warriors for Christ.
Contending does not mean being combative—it means standing immovable on God’s Word. Jesus Himself modeled this. He confronted lies with Scripture, He bore truth with humility, and He laid down His life in love.
This is how we must train our children: to stand firm, but to do so in a way that reflects Christ.
A Call to Action
Mamas, this is our battle cry: rise up and disciple your children in truth. The days are evil, but our God is faithful. Homeschooling is not always easy, but it is fruitful—it is kingdom work.
Do not fear the cultural lies. Do not doubt your calling. Do not grow weary. Instead, rest in the Lord of the harvest, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Let us raise children who are not swayed by lies but stand tall in truth. Children who love God and love people without compromising with sin. Children who live as lights in a dark world.
The battle belongs to the Lord—but He has chosen to use us, mamas, to train up the next generation of truth-bearers.
This is our moment. Let us be faithful.
(P.S. For the mamas who, for various reasons, cannot homeschool right now—stay encouraged. 🤎 God sees your heart and your desire to raise your children in His truth. Do your best with the time, resources, and influence He has given you. Remember, His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Stay faithful, keep planting seeds, and trust Him to bring the growth.)
