Knowing if you’re doing what’s right for your children is one of the most common questions in motherhood. It is a question that all mothers ask themselves regardless of how many children they have. First-time moms and veteran moms alike experience moments when they wonder to themselves if they’re failing their kids by not doing enough or doing what’s best for them.
There’s a difference between feeling like you’re not doing what’s right and knowing that you’re not doing what’s right. Check your heart. Are you seeking to please Jesus in your motherhood journey? Do your heart and actions line up with scripture? Then you’re on the right path. Are your seeking to please yourself and others? Do your heart and actions often clash with scripture? Then you’re on a crooked path.
If you’ve been playing the comparison game with other moms you’re putting yourself in the danger zone. When you compare yourself to mothers who seem to be perfect you will always feel inadequate. When you compare yourself to mothers who are mediocre at best you will feel superior and lean towards pridefulness. The comparison game is a trap from your enemy, Satan, and it will leave you feeling empty, confused and deceived.
Psalm 143:10 says, “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.”
The fact is you will never do the “right” thing all the time. Mistakes will be made. Failures are inevitable. However, when you pray for godly guidance and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, He will lead you along level ground. Instead of questioning yourself all the time, you will experience God’s peace.
Psalm 119:165 says, "Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble."
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the questions in your head pause and pray for peace and godly wisdom. Read God’s word and strive to do what’s right by faith. Then accept the peace that comes from obeying His word and trust that He will lead you along level ground. This peace provides you with the assurance that you are raising your children the right way--His way.

This is so true! Absolutely good to reflect on! Colossians 3:23 do everything unto the Lord 🙏🏼
